A Floor Made for a King
The inspiration for this flooring was the tile in the Ambassadors’ entrance of Buckingham Palace. I duplicated the pattern and scale, but added my own twist by using a black and white colour theme. These tiles are made of cast concrete a half an inch thick. The true beauty of these tiles is their rustic charm; no two tiles are alike. They have slight imperfections in not only appearance but also size and thickness. The finished floor gives a wonderful old-world charm.
A sealer and wax were applied before installation, and several coats of additional wax were applied after installation to give a protective and shiny finish.
